If I move my cursor to the top right hand corner then the x/y axes are showing values of around 400’ and 200’ respectively. As an example, I just set up a drawing with architectural units and limits of 0’-0,0’-0 and 39’-0, 26’-0 and then drew a 36’ x 13’ rectangle which is showing reasonably small in the bottom left hand corner. In case it helps, when I am drawing in model space I usually set the units and limits for my drawing and then zoom all before I start drawing otherwise what I draw comes out very small even if the size of the space I’m drawing is not much smaller than the limits I’ve set. 3” = 1’-0 or 6” = 1’-0 to get the drawing to appear in a decent size in the viewport, but this doesn’t make any sense to me when the drawing is of a room approximately 36’ x 13’ and I am plotting to print on A4 paper. 1/4” = 1’-0 then I end up with a very small version of the drawing in my layout. If I use the scale suggested by my textbook to set and lock for the layout, e.g. I still also have significant issues with scale in layouts and scale in general which is affecting my ability to insert text, draw tables, dimension, etc.

I am afraid I didn’t understand your query about double clicking inside the viewport.

I tried zoom extents which did bring the drawing back in but the viewport is now located outside the borders of the page which is showing as a very small rectangle in the bottom left hand corner of the screen so I don’ t think that works. If I change back to mm then the drawing reappears but the drawing units are architectural. When plotting I am only changing from mm to inches and then selecting a scale of 1:1 as switching from mm to inches prompts the scale to default to Custom. Strangely, if I then toggle from paper to model space within the layout, the Model/Layout tab then almost disappears behind the Paper/Model tab and I have to select the layout again to pull it out from behind. it happens as soon as I click the OK button after setting up my plotting. After plotting I am not able to see anything in paperspace or modelspace in the layout tab.
